QR Code HELP
PRoblems scanning a QR Code?
Insure you have QR Code scanning capabilities with your device and it is activated and/or turned on.
Be sure the QR Code is clean, dry, not folded, faded, scuffed, wrinkled or torn. *(These codes very exact and are not immune to loss of code information.)
Insure camera lens is clean, serviceable, and free of smudges & fingerprints.
If there is more than one QR Code in view, cover the code you don’t want to follow with a hand or object, while leaving full view of the code you do want to follow.
Be sure you have the entire QR Code in FOCUS and in VIEW. **(Most software will present a colored square or four-corner edge detection on your device’s screen when it detects a QR Code.)
Since pages have a sheen to them, try putting camera or page at an angle to avoid a reflection into camera lens. We’ve noticed that the scans work best when there is a shadow over the entire QR Code. This should eliminated reflections, and thus the camera missing some of the coding/dots.
***Other Hints:
- Sometimes panning the camera away from the page and then returning to it, causes the camera to recognize a QR Code.
- Then other times, closing the program and/or camera, and reopening it will do the same.
- We’ve had great success using 3x zoom, a shadow, AND filling most of the camera screen with the QR Code.
**** IF ALL ELSE FAILS… REMEMBER: If the QR Code becomes unserviceable, then you can still use this site to explore! Just navigate to the MAIN MENU at top-right and click QUICK LINKS drop-down menu.
